FAQ
Can I adapt the curing times by myself?
Standard light curing times are pre-set and can’t be individually adapted:
There is a beep every 5s while working. Press “main switch” to interrupt running process at any time or restart curing process.
Is the battery replaceable by the user?
No, please contact your local representative for service.
How many cycles after full battery load are possible with Kulzer Translux Cure?
Kulzer Translux Cure can cover up to 225 CURE cycles once fully loaded.
What is the warranty that is granted with the device?
12 months
Whom shall I contact in case of servicing needs in- and outside-warranty?
Please contact your local distributor or local Kulzer representative directly.
What disposable sleeves should I use?
Disposable sleeves are compulsory during treatment. Please use the validated Kulzer Translux Cure disposable sleeves for hygienic protection. The original packaging con?tains a carton of 100 pieces of the sleeves. They could be re-ordered by a separate article code.
Should I sterilize any parts of the Kulzer Translux Cure?
No, there are NO parts to be sterilized after use, disinfection only!
NOTE: sterilization of the LED light source head will damage the LEDs – this abnormal treatment is out of warranty scope!
How can I disinfect Kulzer Translux Cure?
The light source head, protective light shield and handpiece should be cleaned and disinfected after each treatment.
Disinfection: Wipe all the surfaces of handpiece and LED light source head with a damp cloth, lightly moistened with ethanol for disinfection (Ethanol 70 to 80vol%) at least for 2 minutes and make sure to wipe each surface min. 5 times.
How can I check proper function of Kulzer Translux Cure?
Check for residues of resin or other contaminants on the surface of the Kulzer Trans?lux Cure LED light source lens: Put the orange shield in front of the light source head, switch on device and start CURE mode. All 4 LEDs must be illuminated (3 x blue, 1 x violet) and lens must be clean.
By design, if one LED gets damaged, the device creates an error message and stops further operation. Contact your local Kulzer representative.
By design, the Kulzer Translux Cure carries an in-built power control. If the battery gets low, the LEDs are operating with constant electrical power to keep the light inten?sity uniform and according to specifications.
By design, if the battery gets empty, an error message appears on the display, and curing cycles cannot be started.
Can I use the POWER mode and shorten curing time of Kulzer restorative materials?
No, the POWER mode is not compatible to Kulzer restorative materials, please adhere to the instructions of use concerning curing times and light output. Please use the POWER mode only for materials that are released for high-intensity light-curing ac?cording to the respective instructions for use.
What is the risk of using the POWER mode with non-released materials?
Ideally, composite materials that are specifically designed for high-intensity light-curing should be used when applying the high-intensity curing mode. Especially flowable bulk-fill composites, that are not designed for rapid high-intensity curing, are not re?commended to be polymerized with the POWER mode, as it may compromise the tooth-restoration interface. Material instructions of use of the respective manufacturers must be followed.
What technique is used in DETECT mode?
The DETECT mode activates violet light and makes plaque, caries and fluorescing composite visible.
Does Kulzer Translux Cure carry transilluminating white light in DETECT mode as well?
No, in DETECT mode the Kulzer Translux Cure covers violet light only.
In which mode does the Kulzer Translux Cure start by default?
The device starts in the mode that was last set and used.
Can Kulzer Translux Cure charging base be connected to any other external power supply unit?
No, it is strictly forbidden to use other power supplies than the provided original one! High risk of electrical damage for charging base and handpiece.
Can the power supply be connected to any mains voltage and frequency?
Yes, the original power supply can be connected to any mains power supply worldwide (90-250V; 50/60 Hz). Use suitable adapter for mains plug.
Does the LEDs emit UV-light?
No, the emitted light is visible blue and violet light only. But, due to high intensity of emitted light, never look directly into LEDs without eye-protection and never direct light beam to other persons. Kulzer Translux Cure is NOT a flashlight!
Does the protective sleeve influence the performance of the Kulzer Translux Cure?
Conclusion from all measurements taken without and with the sleeve: the peak [nm] and the spectral bandwidth are unaffected by the sleeve. Peak intensity decreases by a few percent across all curing modes when the sleeve is used. The measured intensity values with the sleeve remain within specifications. Consequently, the use of the original sleeves is approved.
